TROD MEDICAL History

After leading some multi-partner international R&D programs in the medical device field, Dr. Andre Faure, a dynamic, business-minded physician with a technical background, determined it to be advantageous to situate all his future projects in a geographic region where the basic technologies necessary for development of medical devices could be easily sourced. Technologies for producing minimally invasive medical devices for defined soft tissue ablation are closely related to micro mechanics, including precision polymers. Because of it's historical significance as a watch-making region, the geographic area located between France and Switzerland, houses a wealth of highly-skilled micro mechanics manufacturers. For this reason, Dr. Faure decided that this was the perfect place to base his R&D business.

In 2005, in cooperation with a major European micro mechatronics research center, Dr. Faure launched a new project based on one of his patented inventions, a radio frequency device for percutaneous soft tissue ablation- Encage™. Dr Faure tapped the resources of his international network for the additional partners (clinical, etc.) needed for project completion. He convinced Mr. Manfred Sablowski and Mr. Brook Peterson, to join him in the Trod Medical venture forming a successful worldwide business. Sablowski and Peterson each have more than 20 years of experience in the medical technology field in companies like Valleylab-Pfizer, and managing successful other Medical Device companies as well as new startup companies throughout the years. Upon completion of the feasibility phase, Andre Faure founded, Trod Medical®, in July 2006.

Trod Medical's Encage™ was formally introduced at the AUA-Orlando in May 2008 and was FDA cleared in October 2008. Trod Medical opened their USA based subsidiary in Bradenton, Florida in September 2009.

Trod Medical® acquired two additional patented devices for RF soft tissue ablation. Application for FDA approval will be submitted in the near future.
