TROD MEDICAL® Introduces ENCAGE™


TROD MEDICAL® introduces the ENCAGE™ our patented, minimally invasive breakthrough technology for soft tissue ablation. This surgical system allows for the precise percutaneous ablation of target tissue with well-defined margins, while leaving surrounding tissue unaffected. ENCAGE™ may be used with a stand-alone, proprietary software for surgical planning and image guidance during the procedure; a variety of percutaneous probes and accessories, and an RF-bipolar generator that precisely controls the ablation.

 

This approach represents an advancement in a surgeons ability to precisely plan a percutaneous ablation with an exact size, shape and volume of tissue to be ablated. It may have application for soft tissue organs such as prostate, kidney or liver.

Step 1: Locate Target Tissue

Target Plus, Trod Medical’s® proprietary surgical planning software permits the surgeon to locate and precisely target the soft tissue area to be ablated. This proprietary software can be used with existing ultrasound image guidance systems.

Step 2: ENCAGE™ Target Tissue

ENCAGE™ electrodes are inserted percutaneously, into the target tissue, utilizing ultrasound image guidance. To insure precise positioning, ENCAGE™ is viewed real-time via the ultrasound image during the positioning process.

Step 3: Ablate Target Tissue

Trod Medical’s® ENCAGE™ combined with Power Cage Plus allows for precise percutaneous tissue ablation with well defined margins while leaving surrounding tissues unaffected.
